- Walls should be light in colour.
- Western walls which are exposed to direct sunlight should be shaded.
- Insulation can be retrofitted into existing homes.
- The material of the wall will affect the building’s thermal mass.
- Double brick or Brick Veneer homes which are exposed to hot afternoon sun take a lot longer to cool down in the evening then light timber framed clad (such as fibro or weatherboard) homes.
